Kirk Cousins' dad finished his cancer treatments and got to watch his son play a perfect game
Don Cousins was diagnosed with metastatic squamous cell carcinoma and started undergoing treatments in late July, according to the Orlando Sentinel – right around the same time his son Kirk started training camp with the Washington Redskins.
Don recently completed his final cancer treatment, and was healthy enough to see his son go 20-for-25 for 324 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions with a perfect 158.3 passer rating in 47-14 win over the New Orleans Saints.
He also got the game ball and a hug.
From CSN Mid Atlantic:
After the game, Cousins gushed about having his father back to CSN in a touching interview:
"To have him back was exciting and to have a game like that was a lot of fun, gave him the game ball. He just said: 'Thank you. Thanks for a great day,' put a smile on his face and it was special for our family and we'll enjoy it tonight."
